Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin is a synthetic peptide that stimulates the body’s natural production of growth hormone by acting as an analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It works by signalling the pituitary gland to increase growth hormone secretion, which can lead to higher levels of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and support changes in body composition and metabolism.

Tesamorelin is FDA-approved under the brand name Egrifta for the reduction of excess abdominal fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy, a condition involving abnormal fat accumulation caused by certain HIV treatments. Clinical studies have shown that Tesamorelin can significantly reduce visceral abdominal fat while helping preserve lean muscle mass in eligible patients.
